Cortalim Villagers SCWC Storm Past Bidesh XI 2-0 in Goa Pro League Thriller
MAPUSA – Cortalim Villagers SCWC edged Bidesh XI 2-0 in a pulsating Relegation Round clash. The first half was a tense affair, with both sides trading blows, until Cortalim struck twice in a minute to leave Bidesh reeling.
Joel Passoni tested Cortalim’s defence early on, but the Villagers held firm. Clifton Rebello and Myran Pereira squandered chances, before Shario Gomes broke the deadlock with a stunning long-range shot in the 44th minute. Ashnoy Gomes added a second just before halftime, leaving Bidesh 2-0 down.
Bidesh pushed hard after the break, but Cortalim’s defence stood firm. Passang Sherpa made a crucial save, and the Villagers held on to secure a vital win. Shario Gomes and Ashnoy Gomes’ strikes proved the difference, lifting Cortalim to 5th place.
