PANAJI: following rumours of Petrol shortage in the state The president of Goa Petrol Dealer Association, Mr Narahar Thakur, in a video addressed to the customers circulating amongst the members of public members that there is no shortage of petrol or diesel in the state.
Mr Thakur in the live address stated that some petrol pumps in the state may run out of stock due to panic buying by the vehicle owners or customers.
However, there is no need for concern. At present there is sufficient fuel stock to last for approximately eight days in the state.
Additionally a fresh consignment has been received today at the depot which will sustain supply for another seven days, he said adding “This cycle of consignment is regular and repeats after every 8-10 days. He also said in total we have adequate stock to meet growing demands for around 14 days.
All the three petroleum companies namely Bharat Petroleum, Hindustan Petroleum and Indian Oil Corporation, have stocks in the state. The president also urged the members of the general public having vehicles not to worry and avoid panic buying as the normal purchasing behaviour will ensure smooth and uninterrupted supply to every one.
Today we noticed there was a huge queue of 4-wheelers in Porvorim while 2-wheelers queued up in Panaji as there was only one pump functioning on the petrol pump.
