* Fire Crew Clears Tree from electricity Wires at Ganesh Puri Mapusa *

Mapusa, 15 March 2026 – A massive tree crashed onto live electrical wires near the Ganesh Temple in Ganesh Puri at 12:13 hrs, showering sparks and cutting power to nearby homes. Eyewitness said the bang sounded “like thunder” and sent worshippers scattering.

Mapusa Fire Brigade, led by Shri Suraj Shetgaonkar, cordoned the area, evacuated bystanders and doused smoldering limbs. Electricity Department engineers arrived, isolated the feeder and earthed the conductors before firefighters cut the tree away in sections and checked adjacent poles for damage.
