AAP accuses Goa govt of stalling bills on land, environment

PANAJI: March 14 The Aam Aadmi Party on Saturday accused the BJP-led government of blocking the introduction of key private members’ bills in the legislative assembly in Goa to prevent discussion on issues related to land protection, environment and livelihoods.

Addressing a press conference, the AAP leaders alleged that the democratic process in the assembly was being deliberately undermined to stop debate on matters affecting the people of the state.

The opposition had protested inside the House on Friday during the ongoing budget session after Speaker Ganesh Gaonkar refused to table the private members’ bills submitted by them.
