Firefighters Spring into Action as Tree Crash Brings Carona to a Standstill
Mapusa: A sudden wind sent a massive tree crashing onto electrical wires and a nearby house near Laxminarayan temple in Carona, Aldona, at 16:35 hrs on Tuesday . Emergency services, led by Mapusa Fire Station’s Sub Officer O.D. Karbotkar, swiftly responded to the incident.
No casualties have been reported, but the fallen tree has left residents shaken and power supply disrupted in the area. Electricity authorities were on site, working to restore services.
The incident highlights the importance of regular tree maintenance and emergency preparedness in Goa’s lush but sometimes volatile environment.
