We will Crack Down on ‘Do-What-You-Like’ Tourism Says tourism minister Khaunte”
Porvorim: Due to the influence of social media, there is a growing perception among some young tourists that they can do anything in Goa. However, such behavior will not be tolerated and strict action will be taken. There have been instances where young tourists visit beaches, take selfies with foreign visitors and cause inconvenience to them.
“I have discussed this matter with the Hon’ble Chief Minister, and steps are being taken to strengthen enforcement, including deploying additional police personnel on beaches through the Tourism Police Unit (TPU) in coordination with respective police stations.
Continuous action and arrests are being made where necessary. Goa’s name cannot be spoilt because of such behavior. We have also asked TPU and CM to increase the number of women constables to further strengthen safety and security monitoring” said Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte.
