GCA CONGRATULATES PURVAJA VERLEKAR FOR BRILLIANT CENTURY
PANAJI: The Goa Cricket Association (GCA) has congratulated Goan cricketer Purvaja Verlekar for her outstanding performance in the Senior Women’s Inter Zonal One Day Trophy, where she scored a magnificent unbeaten 103.
Purvaja’s brilliant knock came in a Women’s List-A match played at the BCCI Centre of Excellence Ground 1. Her remarkable innings showcased exceptional determination, skill and dedication to the game, bringing pride to the association as well as to the state of Goa.
President of the Goa Cricket Association, Mahesh Dessai, congratulated Purvaja on her achievement and said that her performance reflects the growing strength of women’s cricket in Goa. “Scoring an unbeaten century at the national level is a commendable achievement and we are extremely proud of Purvaja. Her performance will surely inspire many young cricketers in the state to pursue the game with dedication,” he said.
GCA Secretary Tulshidas Shetye also praised the young cricketer for her impressive innings. “Purvaja has shown great composure and maturity at the crease. Her century is a proud moment for Goa cricket and we wish her continued success in the upcoming matches,” he stated.
