GSB Unity Cup 3.0 CD Fountainhead and Sinq Rangers Register Impressive Wins
Margao In the matches played on Saturday in the GSB Unity Cup 3.0 tournament organised by the Goa GSB Sports and Charitable Trust, CD Fountainhead and Sinq Rangers secured convincing victories over their respective opponents. Both encounters, held under lights at the MCC ground in Margao, witnessed intense competition that went down to the final overs.
Batting first, CD Fountainhead posted 169 for 7 in 20 overs. Manish Kakode (49) and Anish Prabhudesai (45) laid a solid foundation for the innings. Vikrant Prabhu (29) and Pranav Biche (unbeaten 24) accelerated in the closing overs to take the team to a competitive total. In reply, Desserts N More Avengers were restricted to 161 for 7 in their 20 overs. Kaushal Hattangadi (36) and Saish Hegde (30) fought hard, but regular wickets at crucial intervals prevented them from reaching the target. Pranav Biche (2/26) and Vikrant Prabhu (1/26) bowled effectively to steer Fountainhead to victory.
In the second match, Sinq Rangers piled up a formidable 182 for 6 in 20 overs. Sairaj Dhond (35), Nikhil Virginkar (unbeaten 34), Vismay Falgaonkar (26), and Megh Netravalkar (25) played fluent knocks to put their team in a commanding position.
Chasing the target, Priority Titans were reduced to a precarious 22 for 4 early in their innings. Sahil Mandrekar (51) and Animesh Prabhugaonkar (34) led a spirited fightback. However, Mehanak Dharwadkar’s incisive spell (4/25) proved decisive as the Titans were bowled out for 174 in 20 overs. Nikhil Virginkar (2/26) and Arin Angle (2/28) provided valuable support with the ball. Both matches turned out to be thrilling contests, and attention now shifts to the upcoming fixtures in the tournament.
Manish Kakode was awarded the Desserts N More Player of the Match, while Pranav Biche received the Kamat Realty Hero of the Match award from Sagun Naik and Venkat Biche.
In the other match, Mehank Dharwadkar bagged the Desserts N More Player of the Match award, and Nikhil Virginkar was presented with the Kamat Realty Hero of the Match award by Sumiran Amonkar and Venkat Biche.
