Indian Super League 2025-26: Mohammedan SC 0 – 2 FC Goa

Margao: Pol Moreno and Dejan Drazic on target as the Gaurs secure first win of the season
Kolkata, India February 20, 2026: FC Goa secured their first three points of the Indian Super League 2025-26 season with a clinical 2–0 victory over Mohammedan SC at the Kishore Bharati Krirangan. A dominant first-half display proved decisive as the Gaurs combined attacking sharpness with defensive discipline to see out a comfortable win on the road.

The visitors made a perfect start, striking as early as the 5th minute. Pol Moreno opened his account for FC Goa in style, rising above his marker to power home a leaping header from a well-delivered cross. The early breakthrough settled the Gaurs into rhythm and put Mohammedan SC on the back foot from the outset.
FC Goa continued to control proceedings with structured build-up play and intelligent movement in the final third. Their sustained pressure paid off again in the 32nd minute when they were awarded a penalty after a foul inside the box. Dejan Drazic stepped up and calmly converted from the spot, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way to double the lead and give the Gaurs a firm grip on the contest.
With a two-goal cushion heading into the break, Goa managed the tempo effectively in the second half. Mohammedan SC attempted to push forward, but the Gaurs’ defensive organisation ensured that clear-cut chances remained limited. The midfield worked tirelessly to close spaces, while the backline remained compact to preserve the clean sheet.
The second half also saw a milestone moment for the Gaurs, as Daniel Lalhlimpuia made his FC Goa debut, coming on in the 79th minute to add fresh energy to the attack.
Goa’s composure in possession and discipline out of it allowed them to see out the remainder of the match without major scares. The 2–0 result marks FC Goa’s first win of the ISL 2025-26 campaign and provides valuable momentum as the season gathers pace.
The Gaurs will now return to Fatorda for next week’s clash against league debutants Sporting Club Delhi. The club will mark an early Women’s Day celebration, offering free entry for women and girls of all ages in the South, East and West stands, along with a host of special activities around the fixture. With four points from their first two matches, FC Goa will look to carry their positive start forward and continue the momentum.
