“MLA Joshua Dsouza Flags Off Rabies Fight in Bardez, Pledges Support”
Mapusa: Mapusa MLA Joshua inaugurated the Special Rabies Campaign for Bardez Taluka, emphasizing the need for collective action against rabies. The event, held at Dnyanprassarak Vidyalaya, Mapusa, was organized by the Directorate of Animal Husbandry and Worldwide Veterinary Service Goa Foundation.
Dsouza lauded the efforts of Mission Rabies and partner organizations, saying,
“This campaign marks a significant step towards a rabies-free Bardez and a safer community.” The program featured cultural performances by students, highlighting the importance of animal welfare and public health.
Dignitaries, including Minister Nilkant Halarnkar and officials from Animal Husbandry and Mission Rabies, attended the event. Goa was declared a ‘Rabies Controlled Area’ in 2021, and this campaign aims to further reduce rabies cases.
