“CM launches work for Ro-Ro Ferry Ramps, Easing Divar-St Pedro Commute”
Panaji: Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant launched the works of the widening of Ferry Ramps for Ro-Ro Ferries at Diwar and St. Pedro under the Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Ltd. project, in the presence of Revenue Minister, Atanasio Monserrate , MLA, .Rajesh Faldesai, Commissioner cum Secretary, Revenue, Sandip Jacques, IAS, others
The project, part of the Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Ltd. initiative, is expected to significantly reduce travel time and reliance on narrow bridge routes during peak hours. The new Ro-Ro ferries will accommodate up to 17 cars, 20-22 two-wheelers, and 50 passengers, with separate entry and exit points to minimize turnaround time .
The project is part of a larger effort to boost urban infrastructure in Panaji, with multiple initiatives launched under the Smart Cities Mission, including electric vehicle charging stations and modernized water supply networks. Revenue Minister Atanasio Monserrate and other officials were present at the event ¹.
