Breaking Mental Barriers: Goa Pushes for Holistic Well-being
Health Minister, vishwajeet Rane graced the State Level Mental Health & Well Being Event Co-hosted by the Directorate of Health Services, Goa & Sangath at Bambolim.Director, Health Services, Dr. Rupa Naik & others were also present. 
Director of Health Services, Dr. Rupa Naik, highlighted Goa’s efforts to address mental health issues, including the establishment of a mental health day-care centre at Bambolim. However, concerns remain about the state’s preparedness to tackle the growing mental health crisis, with over 43,000 outpatient consultations in 2024 alone.
The event underscores the need for integrated approaches to mental health, involving schools, workplaces, and communities. Goa’s mental health infrastructure faces challenges, including staff shortages and logistical issues, despite increased budgeting .
