Lincoln–Vales and Ballani, Sapre Claim Titles at BPS Open Pickleball Championship 2026
Margao, February 2026 — Aarin Ballani, Gaurav Sapre and the seasoned pairing of Lincoln Furtado and Savio Vales emerged winners in their respective categories as some finals across age groups were decided on Saturday at the ongoing BPS Open Pickleball Championship 2026 in Margao.
In the Men’s Doubles 60+ final, Lincoln Furtado and Savio Vales produced a dominant performance to defeat James Anderson and Parag Joshi 11–2, 11–2. The Margao-based duo had earlier worked through competitive rounds asserting control in the final to secure the title, adding to Lincoln’s strong run following his success in the Men’s Singles 60+ category earlier in the tournament.
In the Men’s Singles 50+ category, Gaurav Sapra clinched the title with a straight-games victory over Wilfred Jacques, winning the final 11–4, 11–8. Sapra reached the summit clash after defeating Lincoln Furtado 15–7 in the semifinals, while Jacques advanced to the final with a 15–2 win over Savio Vales.
Junior categories saw Aarin Ballani stamp his authority with titles in both Under-12 and Under-16 singles. In the Under-12 final, Ballani defeated Arsh Sardesai 15–3 after a dominant run through the rounds. He followed this up with a composed 15–7 win over Aryaveer Anirudh Agrawal in the Under-16 singles final, having earlier beaten Tivisha Sardessai 15–6 in the semifinals.
In the Mixed Doubles 50+ final, Karan and Melanie lifted the title with a convincing 11–2, 11–2 win over Noel Noronha and Shubhangi Borker. The champions had earlier defeated Willy and Audrey 15–7 in the semifinals to progress.
Elsewhere, league and knockout matches in the Men’s Singles (Open) category saw Aryaveer Anirudh Agrawal, Vishnu and Kane Roncon Pereira register multiple wins across rounds, as competitive action continued across courts.
The BPS Open Pickleball Championship 2026 is being hosted at the BPS Sports Club, Margao, and features a packed schedule across junior, senior and Open categories, reflecting the world’s fastest growing sport’s expanding competitive footprint in Goa.
