“PCB Impersonator’s Rs. 9.6 Lakh Scam Unraveled One Held in Calangute ”
Calangute on 04.02.2025 Calangute Police Station arrested Notorious Fraudster who impersonated as Goa State Pollution Control Board official and dishonestly induces people who are in Restaurant, café etc. business establishment and thus cheated them accused Suraj Pendse approached to him and impersonated himself as an Official of Goa Pollution Control Board having all information about existing PCB licenses like capacity and data of expiry of licenses and further faked that collector office has directed him to conduct checks on complainant’s licenses and further dishonestly induced the complainant by misrepresentation, false assurance and received payment a total sum of Rs. 9,59,500/-, thereby cheated the complainant.
During the investigation it is revealed that, accused Suraj Pendse is involved in such Crime in the State of Goa and multiple offences has been registered on him. The investigation of this case is in progress with PSI Prajit Mandrekar of Calangute Police Station. Acussed person is presently arrested was produced before Hon’ble JMFC Court Mapusa and was remanded for 07 days Police custody.
Further investigation is in progress with PSI Prajit Mandrekar under the Supervision of PI Shri. Paresh Naik of Calangute Police Station with overall Supervision of SDPO Porvorim, Shri Vishwesh Karpe and SP North, Shri. Harishchadra Madkaikar, GPS.
