Goa Suffer Innings Defeat Against Punjab

Panaji: Goa endured a crushing defeat at the hands of Punjab, losing by an innings and 296 runs in their Colonel C.K. Nayudu Trophy match (Under-23, four-day fixture) played at the GCA ground in Sanguem on Sunday.
Resuming the third day at 58 for 1, Goa’s second innings folded for 145 runs in 70.3 overs. Earlier, Punjab had declared their first innings at a commanding 533 for 5, after which Goa were dismissed for just 92 in their first innings. Enforcing the follow-on, Punjab put Goa back into bat, eventually sealing a comprehensive innings victory. In Goa’s second innings, Anuj Yadav was the top scorer with 37 runs. Captain Aryan Narvekar contributed with 32.
Goa’s next match will be against Kerala, beginning on February 6.
