Chimbel Protesters Clash with Govt over Unity Mall Project: ‘Scrap it Now’ Demand *
PANJIM: The agitators and protestors from Chimbel marched to Azad Maidan in Panaji but rushed back to Old Goa when the came to know that the government had timposed section 163 of BNS stating violators would be arrested and put behind bars.
The agitators demanded that the written from the government and in this regard the chief minister, Dr Pramod Sawant should invite them to secretariate and discuss the issue as the government had failed to honour the word given to the when the I-T Park project was opposed and scraped by the government.
Now, again the government came up with new project styled as Unity Mall and Prashashan Sthamb. Scrapping of the project copy should be given to them first and everything should done under their supervision. They said collector should be the mediator between the villagers and the government. Both Unity Mall and Prashashan Sthumb should be scrapped under their supervision. .
