Goa Police Displays Bravery in High-Risk Arrest, Thwarts Mob Attack

Panjim: A Goa Police team showed exceptional courage in arresting a notorious inter-state theft gang leader in Madhya Pradesh, despite facing a violent mob attack. The team, comprising officers from Porvorim and Mapusa police stations, apprehended Hirasingh Bamniya (38) in Bahadiya village after a jungle chase. While escorting him to court, the police vehicle was ambushed by a mob armed with knives, sticks, and stones, attempting to free the accused. The officers bravely fought back, retaining custody and escaping with minor injuries.
