“Sporting Mania Ahead: Calangute Unveils Sports Fiesta 3.0 Gear
The Village Panchayat of Calangute successfully held the unveiling ceremony of trophies and jerseys for Sports Fiesta 3.0 on Thursday, January 30, 2026, at the Village Panchayat Calangute Hall. The event was graced by Mrs. Franzilia Rodrigues, Zilla Panchayat Member of the Calangute Constituency, as the Chief Guest, and renowned businessman and proprietor of Fat Fish, Mr. Prashant Korgaonkar, as the Guest of Honour.
The programme was attended by Sarpanch Joseph Sequeira, Deputy Sarpanch Anny Fernandes, and Secretary Arjun Velip, along with Panchayat members Paulo D’Souza, Savio Gonsalves, Sapnesh Vaigankar, Prasad Shirodkar, Francisco Rodrigues, Geeta L. Parab, Sunita Mayekar, Alex Coutinho, and Filomena Fernandes.
Sports Fiesta 3.0 aims to promote sportsmanship, encourage youth participation, and strengthen community bonding through sports. The event will feature 15 sporting disciplines, including Beach Football, Beach Volleyball, Cricket, Futsal, Penalty Shootout, Sprint, Relay, Shot Put, Javelin Throw, Carrom, Chess, Table Tennis, and Badminton, from February 3rd to 7th, 2026, across three venues: West Coast Sports and Cultural Club, Khobravaddo; Calangute Association, Umtavaddo; and Poriat Football Ground.
