Goa Forward Pushes for Dual Citizenship for Goans with Portuguese Passport
Panaji: Goa Forward chief Vijai Sardesai is advocating for dual citizenship for Indians, particularly Goans, who have taken Portuguese citizenship. He believes it’s a matter of protecting individual and family identity, and preserving Goan heritage (“Goemkarponn”).

Sardesai argues dual citizenship would provide a safeguard, allowing Goans to maintain their roots while enjoying benefits of Portuguese citizenship. The issue highlights the complexities faced by Goans with ties to Portugal.
