“PANAJI: There was long and tedious queue at the withdrawal and deposit counters. as there was none at attendant counter, and this is the scene at the State Bank of India, opposite Adil Shah Palace, Old Secretariat, in the capital city of Panaji, Goa, on Wednesday at 3 pm. Each person is taking at least 20 minutes for clearance.
It appeared that there’s was a shortage of staff. A bank official revealed that nobody’s was interested in working in a bank due to the heavy workload and pressure of clearing customers on time. Officers also needed to prepare and present the day’s work report before leaving, with no scope to postpone it.
Even officials were on strike in January 27 at Azad Maidan, demanding a 5-day workweek.”
