Gadre Gaspar Dias Open 2026: Quarter-Final Line-up Takes Shape in Masters Category
Panajim, January 2026 – The Masters category at the 11th edition of the Gadre Gaspar Dias Open continued to gather momentum on Day 3, with a series of closely fought encounters across singles and doubles categories at the Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias and Gymkhana courts, as several players booked their places in the semi-finals and quarter-finals.
In the Masters men’s singles 45+ category, Arumugam M stormed into the semi-finals with two emphatic wins, first defeating Vijay 6–0 in the Round of 16 and then blanking Abhishek 6–0 in the quarter-final. Mandar also advanced to the semi-finals after a dominant 6–0 quarter-final victory over Mano Chhabra, having earlier edged past Siddu 6–1. Amit sealed his semi-final berth with a convincing 6–0 win over Hemanshu, following his Round of 16 victory against D Arumugam by the same margin.
Earlier in the Round of 16, Hemanshu defeated Atul 6–0, while Mano Chhabra prevailed in a tight contest against Sumant, winning 7–6 (3).
In the Masters men’s singles 60+ category, Manoj Chandiramani edged Ujjwal Sakri 7–6 (2), Vijay Primlani beat Agnelo Fernandes 6–0, and Sanjay Ashar overcame Alok Raina 6–4. At the Gymkhana courts, Sheetal Bhonsale defeated Manoj Pandey 6–1, while Anand Rao registered a 6–3 win over Vijay Kamat.
The Masters 120+ doubles category saw Tambe/Tambe beat Paul/Raina 6–1, Lohiya/Ashar edge Mokashi/Bharat S 7–6 (4), M Ghatge/Nilesh defeat Ramakrishna/Sujith 6–2, and Chandiramani/Jeyavel post a 6–0 win over Subhash/Kishor. At Gymkhana, Vijay/Rumi defeated David/Denzil 6–0, while Aparaj/Mohta beat Rammohan/Kapinakadu 6–4.
In the Masters 90+ doubles category, Subodh/Atul defeated Som/Rajnikant 6–3, Sumant/Rohan beat Sanjeev/Siddharth 6–0, Siddu/Chandrakant overcame Jijesh/Devendra 6–1, and Mandar/Ashish registered a comprehensive 6–0 win against Yuvraj/Sachin P.
In the Masters 110+ doubles quarter-final, Ashutosh/Bipin advanced with a 6–1 win over Srinivas/Guruprasad, while Sagar/Ashok defeated Gopal/Sachin 6–4 earlier in the day.
Jointly organised by Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias and the Gadre Group, in association with the Goa State Tennis Association (GSTA), the tournament has received a record 555 entries across the Masters and Open segments. The tournament’s Open category matches will begin on January 26.
