Godinho Extends Support to United Taximen Association: A Vote of Confidence for Goa’s Taxi Fraternity”
Panaji, Goa – In a significant show of solidarity, Panchayat Minister Shri Mauvin Godinho extended his warmest congratulations to the newly elected committee of the United Taximen Association, led by President Shri Prabhakar Gad. The courtesy visit, which took place recently, saw the minister reaffirming his commitment to supporting the taxi community in Goa.
During the meeting, Minister Godinho assured the association of his continued support in addressing their concerns and working towards the betterment of the taxi industry in Goa. “The government is committed to working with taxi operators to ensure their livelihoods are protected and their voices are heard,” he said ¹

The minister’s engagement with the United Taximen Association comes at a time when the taxi industry in Goa is navigating the challenges of digital transformation and regulatory changes. Earlier this year, Godinho had held discussions with taxi unions on the rollout of app-based aggregator guidelines, emphasizing a transition that would not threaten the livelihoods of existing operators ¹ ².
