Jalaj’s Six-For Restricts Goa to 209
Panaji A disciplined bowling performance, led by Jalaj Saxena’s outstanding six-wicket haul, helped Maharashtra bowl out Goa for 209 in 82.1 overs on the opening day. This Ranji Trophy Elite Group B match is being played at Gahunje Stadium, Pune.
The innings began cautiously, with Suyash S Prabhudessai (12) and Manthan Khutkar (14) falling early to leave Goa at 46 for 2. Abhinav Tejrana also failed to convert his start as Jalaj Saxena struck at regular intervals to keep the pressure firmly on the batting side.
Skipper Snehal Kauthankar anchored the innings with a resolute 73 off 130 balls, hitting six fours and two sixes. He found brief support from Lalit Yadav, who contributed 33, with the pair adding the highest partnership of the innings, worth 57 runs.
