MOG Sunday: The Story of Seaweed

Panaji, January 2026: As part of the MOG Sunday series, the Museum of Goa (MOG), Pilerne, will host The Story of Seaweed on Sunday, January 25, an immersive session led by storytellers Gabriella D’Cruz, a marine conservationist of Goan origin and Nefertiti Titli, a filmmaker, with live sound by Ashel Unger and live projection by Priyanka Yadav.

The session traces seaweed’s ancient origins and its deep connection to life on Earth, while highlighting India’s rich marine biodiversity, which includes over 800 species of seaweed. The audience will be introduced to Goa’s seasonal Sargassum forests: dense underwater canopies that support diverse marine life yet remain largely unseen. Through storytelling, sound and visual immersion, Step into the Sea invites participants to experience the feeling of moving through a Goan seaweed forest.

Date & Time: Sunday, January 25, 2026, 11:30 am
Venue: Museum of Goa, Pilerne Industrial Estate, Bardez
