Goa’s Cultural Extravaganza: 25th Lokotsav 2026 Unveils Rich Tapestry of Indian Heritage

Panjim, January 20: Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant inaugurated the 25th Lokotsav 2026, a 10-day national-level festival celebrating India’s diverse folk arts, handicrafts, and cuisines, at Darya Sangam, Kala Academy Campus. The event, organized by the Directorate of Art and Culture, Govt. of Goa, and West Zone Cultural Center, Udaipur-Rajasthan, promises to showcase the country’s finest folk arts, handicrafts, and cuisines.

Art & Culture Minister Shri Ramesh Tawadkar and Director, Art and Culture, Shri Vivek Krishna Naik, were also present at the inaugural ceremony. With over 600 craft persons and traditional food vendors participating, Lokotsav 2026 is a treasure trove of artisanal goods, regional delicacies, and captivating performances

The festival features an extensive handicrafts and handloom marketplace with nearly 550 stalls, bringing together Goan craftsmanship alongside artisanal works from different parts of the country. Visitors can browse through a wide selection of traditional ornaments, fabrics, ceramics, wooden artefacts, and more. Lokotsav 2026 is not just a celebration of India’s rich cultural heritage but also a platform for artisans and food vendors to showcase their skills and connect with a wider audience. As the festival progresses, it is expected to remain a space where art, culture, and community come together.
