“Mapusa Fire Services to the Rescue: Dog Saved, Fire Averted”
Thivim: In a day filled with contrasting tales of distress, emergency services in North Goa were kept on their toes. A dog’s plunge into a well near Kavlem panchayat, Thivim, sent shockwaves through the community, prompting a swift rescue operation at 13:12 hrs.
The Mapusa Fire Station sprang into action, led by Shri V B Gawas, ensuring the safe retrieval of the stranded animal. Hours later, a fire broke out at a wooden stock near the Saibaba Temple in Galvar, Aldona, at 19:20 hrs. The Mapusa Fire Station, now under the leadership of Shri PJ Kannai, responded promptly, preventing the situation from escalating. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
