Fatorda Assault Case: Accused Gets 10 Years RI, 1 Lakh Fine
Margao: The Sessions Court at Margao has convicted Bharat @ Bhomaram Choudhary for attempt to murder, sentencing him to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and imposing a fine of ₹1 lakh. The court directed that ₹50,000 be paid as compensation to the victim, Lalit @ Dungaram Choudhary, who was brutally assaulted at a hardware shop in Fatorda in January 2023.
The prosecution relied on injured eyewitness testimony, medical evidence, and CCTV footage to establish guilt. The investigation was led by PSI Sarvesh Bhandari ¹.
