Temple Tangle: Nandi Idol Vandalised, ₹30K Stolen in Naghnath Mahadev Robbery
Parra, Goa: In a shocking incident, the Naghnath Mahadev Temple at Lingabhat, located on the Parra-Nagoa Road, was robbed for the third time, sparking outrage among devotees. Miscreants broke the door to gain entry, smashed open the donation box, and made off with approximately ₹30,000 in cash. The idol of Nandi was also vandalised during the incident.
The temple, a revered spot for locals and tourists alike, has now been hit thrice, raising serious concerns about security. Police have launched an investigation into the matter, but no arrests have been made so far.
The incident has left the community shaken, with many calling for increased security measures to protect the temple and its assets. “It’s heartbreaking to see our sacred places being targeted like this,” said a local devotee. “We hope the authorities take immediate action to prevent such incidents in the future.”
