Narayan Ratwad Amrit Mahotsav Committee Meeting on January 11

Mapusa: A meeting of the Shri Narayan Ratwad Amrit Mahotsav Felicitation Committee has been organized on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at 6:00 PM in Mapusa. The meeting will be held at the headquarters of ‘Konkan Marathi Parishad, Goa’, located on the second floor of Dilkhush Building, next to the Laxmi narayan Temple, as informed by the organization’s president and meeting convener, Shri Sudesh Arlekar.

Shri Narayan Rathwad, a resident of Khorlim-Mapusa, recently celebrated his 75th birthday on December 16, 2025. This is his Amrit Mahotsav year. To express gratitude for his outstanding contributions to society, the ‘Konkan Marathi Parishad, Goa’ has decided, in a meeting, to hold a public felicitation ceremony in Mapusa city in February 2026. A temporary committee has also been selected in this regard.

With the aim of making the ceremony comprehensive, other organizations will also be included as co-organizers in the felicitation committee, and a permanent committee will be selected by consensus. Accordingly, this meeting has been organized under the coordination of former corporator and president of the Bardez Taluka Journalists’ Association, Shri Tushar Tople, to decide the date, venue, and overall outline of the program.

Shri Narayan Ratwad is well-known in Goan society as a senior journalist, retired teacher, yoga instructor, social worker, former councillor the Mapusa Municipal Council, activist in various social organizations, an active worker in the cooperative movement, former president of the Sateri Sansthan in Khorlim, and a theatre director and artist. Therefore, a ‘Narayan Ratwad Commemorative Volume’ will also be published during this program.

Shri Narayan Ratwad’s friends, well-wishers, students, acquaintances, family members, and other relatives are requested to be present.
