Mapusa: In a bid to preserve local culinary heritage, this year’s Bodgeshwar Jatra at Shree Dev Bodgeshwar Temple will only feature traditional Goan dishes, with fast-food favourites like gobi manchurian and tandoori chicken getting the boot.

“Only local food will be allowed at the jatra,” said Advocate Vaman Pandit, emphasizing the importance of sticking to traditional flavours like chicken xacuti and ross-omlette.

The move has sparked a mix of nostalgia and curiosity among locals and visitors alike. Will the absence of gobi manchurian dampen the festive spirit? Not if the aroma of sizzling ross-omlette has anything to say about it.
