GAURI WARRIORS LIFT IMPERIAL T20 LEAGUE 2025 TITLE

PANAJI: V Strikers Sports Club successfully organised the Imperial T20 League 2025, a leather-ball cricket tournament, which was held from November 16 to December 21 at the Shri Shantadurga Devasthan ground, opposite Government College, Khandola.

The tournament concluded in the presence of prominent dignitaries including Shri Mahesh Dessai, President of the Goa Cricket Association (GCA), Shri Paresh Phadte, Vice President of GCA, Shri Dilip Naik, Sarpanch of Betki-Khandola, and Shri Praviraj Haldankar, President of V Strikers Club. On the occasion, Shri Mahesh Dessai was lauded for his consistent support towards the growth and upliftment of cricket in Goa, particularly his encouragement to grassroots and club-level tournaments across the State.

In the final, Gauri Warriors emerged champions after defeating Shree Mahalasa Sanskrutik Mandal. Gauri Warriors won the toss and elected to bat first, posting 139 for 9 in 20 overs. Prajesh Parab top-scored with 41 runs off 39 balls, while Ajay Phadte (24), Vishal Vernekar (18) and Hiru Naik (16) made useful contributions. For Mahalasa, Ramanand Satarkar returned impressive figures of 3 for 30, while Gauresh Sawant claimed 2 for 17.

In reply, Shree Mahalasa Sanskrutik Mandal were bowled out for 101 in 17.5 overs, despite Mohit Gaonkar’s 36 off 28 balls. The Gauri Warriors bowling attack was led by Avnish Gaonkar, who produced a match-winning spell of 6 for 8 in 3.1 overs, well supported by Utkarsh Gaonkar with 3 for 25.

Club De Sateri and Green Strikers were the semi-finalists.
