Panaji, December 2025 – Drishti Marine lifesavers rescued four persons, including a mother-child duo from Tamil Nadu and a septuagenarian tourist from the UK, as well as traced two missing children along Goa’s coastline during the weekend.

Arambol beach: A 22-year-old man from Telangana, who was intoxicated while entering the sea with five other friends, started to drown after he was unable to navigate the waters. Noticing his plight, lifesavers Vishnu Kubal and Manoj Parab rushed in using a surfboard and rescue tube to assist the victim. Soon they received jet ski support which made it easier for the lifesavers to bring the victim ashore. His condition is now stable.

Mandrem beach: A mother and her 10-year-old son from Tamil Nadu were swimming in the sea off Mandrem beach when they were unable to make it back to the shore. Lifesaver Dattaguru Korgankar used a rescue board, assisted by Sudhir Parab on a jet ski, to safely rescue both victims. The condition of both, the mother and the son, was stable after the rescue.

Baga beach: Drishti Marine lifesavers managed to trace a missing five-year-old child from Pune after the child was reported missing by the parents. The lifesavers spared no time and launched a search operation, eventually tracing the missing child to another location on the beach. The parents were reunited with the missing child after completion of due formalities.

Calangute beach: A 39-year-old man from Bagalkot in Karnataka sustained a cut to his leg after stepping on a piece of broken glass, while wading in the water. He was immediately administered first aid and was advised to visit a hospital for further treatment.

Palolem beach: Drishti Marine lifesavers rescued a 78-year-old tourist from the United Kingdom (UK) after she was caught in a rip current while swimming. An alert Drishti Marine lifesaver saved a male tourist from Kandivali in Mumbai from despair at Palolem beach, after the latter misplaced his wallet while at the beach the previous night. Lifesaver Gajananand found the purse while reporting for duty and informed the tower. The tourist returned the next morning and the purse was handed over in the presence of police. At the same beach, a three-year-old girl from Bengaluru was reported missing. Lifesavers initiated a search and the child was traced within ten minutes near a shack located a short distance away.
