MCC Tigers and MCC Thunder Register Impressive Wins
Margao: MCC Tigers and MCC Thunder emerged victorious in their respective MCL 11 T20 matches played at the MCC Ground, Margao. In a thrilling first encounter, MCC Tigers edged past MCC Avengers by 2 runs, while in the second match, MCC Thunder outclassed MCC Stallions with a huge 68-run victory.
In morning match Tigers Beat Avengers in Last-Over Thriller. Batting first, MCC Tigers posted 153/8 in 20 overs, powered by solid contributions from Chaitanya Kamat (30), Nikit Naik Dalal (34) and skipper Vaibhav Naik (40).
For MCC Avengers, Venkatesh Nevagi (2/26) and Gopal Gawas (2/45) were the main wicket-takers.
In reply, MCC Avengers were bowled out for 151 in 19.5 overs, despite fighting knocks from Sachin Datta Bhandare (37), Amod Borkar (38) and Vedant Naik (30).
Tigers’ bowling was led by Vaibhav Naik (4/26), while Roshan Naik and others provided key support. Vaibhav Naik (MCC Tigers) was adjudged Man of the Match for his all-round brilliance.
In Afternoon match Thunder Thrash Stallions by 68 Runs. MCC Thunder posted a strong 185/9 in 20 overs, with fine contributions from
Dr. Pawan Rane (35), Om Fadte (30) and Roshan Naik (26). Stallions’ bowling saw good spells from Rohit Mehta (2/30) and Rueben Karekar (2/29).
Chasing a daunting total, MCC Stallions could only manage 117/9 in 20 overs. Nikhil Virginkar (35) and Siddhesh Bodke (22) tried to steady the innings, but disciplined bowling from Thunder sealed the match. Thunder’s attack was spearheaded by Om Fadte (2/13), Sudesh Rane (2/20) and others.
Om Fadte (MCC Thunder) was named Man of the Match.
After these matches, Thunder, Royals and Tigers are placed first, second and third respectively. All three teams have 6 points each. Thunder and Royals have played 4 matches each, while Tigers have played 5.
