“90,000 Voter Names to Go: Goa’s Electoral Roll Sees Major Overhaul”
Nearly 90,000 voter names are set to be removed from Goa’s draft electoral roll due to being flagged as ‘dead’, ‘shifted’, ‘absent’, or ‘duplicate’ during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. Chief Electoral Officer Sanjay Goel announced that these names don’t meet eligibility criteria and will be deleted. However, voters can correct anomalies and discrepancies after the draft roll is published on December 9. The final roll will be published on February 7, 2026, and voters can file claims and objections until January 8, 2026 ¹
