In a remarkable achievement for Goa and the nation, Master Prayank Pradeep Gaonkar secured three Silver Medals for Team India at the prestigious 27th Asian Youth Chess Championships 2025, held in Bangkok, Thailand from 20th to 30th November 2025. He earned silver in all three formats — Rapid, Standard, and Blitz, placing him among the top-performing young chess talents in Asia.

Prayank, a Std. 3 student of Manovikas English Medium High School, Margao, and a promising player of the Salcete Taluka Chess Association and the Goa Chess Association, showcased extraordinary skill, consistency, and composure throughout the tournament.

Competing against some of the strongest young players from across the continent, Prayank demonstrated exceptional tactical ability and deep understanding of the game, earning applause from coaches, officials, and fellow players.
