Workers Protest Against 4 Anti-Labour Codes

The workers / employees employed in various Industries & factories in Goa held
Demonstrations / Protests, at their respective factory gates and in other public
pfaces, to oppose the implementation of 4- Anti Labour Codes. ‘ The Protest is alsb in solidary & support, with the call given by the National Convention of Central Trade Unions and Mass Organisations, along with Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), to oppose Anti- Labour & Anti- Labour policies of the Government at the Centre and State. These 4- Anti- Labour Codes are enacted to snatch away the hard – won rights of working people of the Country,
to favour Corporate and Multi-national Companies.

The Protest / Demonstrations were held in support of following demands:
DEMANDS
1) REPEAL the four (a) Anti Labour Godes;
2l SCRAP the renewed Government Notification dated 03.04.2025,
extending Goa Essential Services and Maintenance Act 1988 (Goa
Act No. 2011989): Prohibiting Strike in manufacturing, packaging,
distribution and transportation of pharmaceutical products and
components thereof in pharmaceutical sectors in Goa.
3) lmplement the National Minimum Wa
pension Rs.10,000/- p.m.
@ Rs.26,000/- month and
4l Ensure guaranteed employment and job security for all. Ensure
200 days of work and payment of Rs.600/- a day as wage in the
MNREGA. Expand it to urban areas. lmmediately withdraw the
exclusion of families from MNERGA.
Remove ceiling on payment and eligibility of Bonus, Provident
Fund and increase the quantum of gratuity payable from 15 days
per year of seruice to 3O days for each year of Leruice.
Regularize the sentices of aII contraet workere vvorking in atl
perennial and permanent iob operations in Government and
private establ ishments.
– No Fixed Term Contractual Employment.
– Equal pay for Equal work and equal status for equal work to all
contractual, temporsry, casual and daily wage employees.
Pay Minimum Support Price (MSP) to the farmers @ c2+50% with
Legally Guaranteed Procurement for all crops.
lmplement Gomprehensive Loan Waiver for farmers and
agricultural workers to end indebtedness and suicides; Ensure
credit facilities for farmers and workers at low interest rates.
9) Comprehensive Public Sector insurance scheme for crops and
cattle. Ensure crop Insurance and all the schemes and benefits
to the tenant farmers.
o Strengthen PDS. Ensure quality public health care and education . to all. Ensure Rs.10,000/- monthly pension at the age of 60 years
for all. Tax the super-rich for the resources.
10) lmplement Universal Social Security cover to all organized and
unorganized workers, scheme workers, contract workers and
those employed in agriculture sector.
