FIFA world Cup  2026 Qualifiers: England’s Winning Streak Continues Saka and Eze Secure Victory Over Serbia

England maintained their perfect World Cup qualifying record with a 2-0 win over Serbia at Wembley, thanks to a Bukayo Saka strike and a late goal from Eberechi Eze.

Thomas Tuchel’s side have now scored 20 goals without reply in their qualifying campaign, with goalkeeper Jordan Pickford extending his clean sheet streak to 10.

Saka opened the scoring with a stunning left-foot volley in the 28th minute, while Eze sealed the win with a superb curling finish in the final minute.

The match was a low-key affair, with Tuchel giving debutant Nico O’Reilly a first senior cap at left-back. Morgan Rogers started in the number 10 role, but was replaced by Jude Bellingham after 65 minutes.

Phil Foden also came on as a substitute and combined with Bellingham to set up Eze’s goal. Serbia mounted some late pressure, but Pickford was equal to the challenge.

Tuchel’s side have now confirmed their place in next summer’s World Cup, and the German coach will be looking to fine-tune his plans ahead of the final qualifier in Albania on Sunday.

Notable performances came from Saka, Eze, and Bellingham, while Adam Wharton made a late appearance for England. Harry Kane captained the side and produced a crucial tackle to keep Serbia at bay.

England’s qualifying campaign has been a huge success, and Tuchel will be confident heading into the World Cup.
