Advocates Cricket League Auction Held; Legal Stalwarts Felicitated with Lifetime Achievement Awards

Panaji: The auction for the seventh season of the Advocates Cricket League was held on Saturday in Porvorim. On this occasion, prominent legal personalities who have made significant contributions to the field of law and cricket were felicitated with Lifetime Achievement Awards by Aldona MLA and Senior Adv. Carlos Alvares Ferreira, who presented them with a memento and a shawl.
Those honoured included Senior Adv. Saresh Lotlikar, Senior Adv. Subodh Kantak, Senior Adv. Nitin Sardesai, and a Veteran Adv. Shantaram Naik. The awardees shared their cricketing and professional experiences through video messages presented during the event.
Speaking about the tournament, President Adv. Iftikhar Agha praised the hard work of the organizing committee and said the success of the league would not have been possible without the support of the team owners and advocate players.
In the auction, Adv. Dattaprasad Shirodkar emerged as the most expensive player, bought by Adv. Iftikhar Agha’s Lawyer Challengers team for 63 lakh points. In Adv. Anup Kudchadkar’s Risers team, Adv. Abhishek Dhawaskar was the costliest player at 43 lakh points. For the Lotlikar Lions, owned by Senior Adv. Saresh Lotlikar and Adv. Vaibhav Bandekar fetched 37 lakh points, making him the team’s top pick.
Legal Titans, owned by Adv. Kedar Shirgaonkar, purchased Adv. Satyam Ghogale for 57 lakh points, while 18 Juners, owned by Adv. Dattaprasad Lawande and Senior Adv. Yogesh Nadkarni, signed Adv. Viraj Tar for 57 lakh points.
Meanwhile, the defending champions UB Warriors, owned by Adv. Pankaj Dabolkar and Senior Adv. Coelho Pereira, spent 45 lakh points to acquire Adv. Raghunath Parab. Each franchise completed its 16-member squad by the end of the auction.
Adding to the excitement of the day, the trophy for the seventh season of the Advocates Cricket League was also unveiled at the occasion.
