MAPUSA JOINS NATION IN CELEBRATING ‘VANDE MATARAM’ MILestone
Mapusa: In a heart willing display of patriotism, Deputy Speaker Goa Legislative Assembly and Mapusa MLA, Shri. Joshua De Souza, led the mass singing of the full version of ‘Vande Mataram’ at Old Mapusa Municipality Hall, Mapusa. The event, commemorating 150 years of India’s national song, saw enthusiastic participation from locals, dignitaries, and students.

MMC chaieprson Priya Mishal,, and other officials joined De Souza in paying tribute to the iconic song, which has inspired generations of Indians. The event was marked by a sense of national pride and unity, as attendees sang ‘Vande Mataram’ in unison, reaffirming their commitment to the nation’s values.
De Souza emphasized the significance of ‘Vande Mataram’ in India’s struggle for independence and its continued relevance today. The celebration in Mapusa was part of nationwide events marking the 150th anniversary of ‘Vande Mataram’, composed by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee in 1875 ¹ ² ³.
