Tragedy Strikes Vidyanagar: Worker Falls to Death, Minor Girl Injured in Construction Site Accident
Vidyanagar, November 5: A devastating incident occurred at an under-construction building in Vidyanagar, Sancoale, where a construction worker fell from the 3rd floor, landing on a minor girl below. The worker, identified as Tabrej Alam from Bihar, succumbed to his injuries on the spot, while the girl is currently undergoing treatment at GMC, Bambolim, for her injuries.
The Verna Police have booked the site engineer for negligence under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), alleging that he allowed labourers to work without safety measures. LPSI Pramila Fernandes of the Verna Police Station is leading the investigation.
The incident has raised concerns about the safety protocols at construction sites in the area. The police are examining the circumstances surrounding the incident to determine the extent of the engineer’s liability.
