Sawant Hands Over Keys to Dream Homes: Mhaje Ghar Yojana Forms Distributed in Ponda”
Ponda: In a significant move to provide relief to thousands of Goans, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant distributed forms under the Mhaje Ghar Yojana to residents of Ponda constituency. The ceremony was attended by Deputy Collector, Mamlatdar, and other senior officials.

The Mhaje Ghar Yojana, a flagship scheme of the Goa government, aims to provide ownership rights to long-standing residents of the state, particularly those living on government and comunidade land. The scheme is expected to benefit a large section of the population, with at least 50% of applicants expected to be covered under the initiative ¹.
During the distribution ceremony, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant emphasized the importance of the scheme, stating that it would help thousands of Goans realize their dream of home ownership. He also urged the residents to take advantage of the scheme and avail the benefits.
PThe Mhaje Ghar Yojana has been launched to address the issue of lack of proper documentation for houses built on government and comunidade land. The scheme will provide a sense of security and stability to the residents, allowing them to access loans and other benefits.

The Chief Minister has also appealed to the comunidade to withdraw their cases and issue No-Objection certificates to those who have built houses in their properties prior to February 2014 ².
