Kerala Blasters FC Edges Out Rajasthan United FC 1-0 in AIFF Super Cup Opener

Kerala Blasters FC began their AIFF Super Cup 2025-26 campaign on a winning note, securing a narrow 1-0 victory over Rajasthan United FC at the GMC Stadium. New signing Koldo Obieta scored the decisive goal with a late header, capitalizing on a numerical advantage after Rajasthan United FC’s Gursimrat Singh Gill was sent off in the 48th minute.

Despite being reduced to 10 men, Rajasthan United FC put up a spirited fight, defending bravely and testing the Blasters’ defense with counterattacks. The match was a closely contested encounter, with both teams creating opportunities, but Kerala Blasters FC ultimately emerged victorious.  Gursimrat Singh Gill’s red card in the 48th minute gave Kerala Blasters FC a numerical advantage. Koldo Obieta’s header in the 87th minute proved to be the winner. Rajasthan United FC’s goalkeeper Bhabindra Malla Thakuri made several key saves to keep his team in the game.

With this win, Kerala Blasters FC takes a crucial three points in Group D. Bengaluru FC also secured a win in their opening match, beating Mohammedan Sporting Club.
